Services Nancy can provide:

Zero Balancing

  • Increase flexibility
  • Regain alignment
  • Reduce muscle spasms and pain

zero balancing largeZero balancing (ZB) is designed to align your physical and spiritual bodies, integrating the traditional wisdom of the East with the medical background of Western medicine.

Like a sailboat, the force and direction of the wind (energy) are integrated with the sail, rudder and keel (body) to move a boat forward. When structure and energy are balanced, dysfunctional habits, emotional patterns and imprints from past traumas tend to release, leading to balance, peace and wholeness.

When should you use Zero Balancing?

• Zero balancing relieves pain and spasms.
• Zero balancing improves posture, gait disturbances, skeletal alignment and balance
• Zero balancing creates a space of stillness where the mind quiets from our internal chatter and allows energy fields re-align themselves.

What is the Procedure for Zero Balancing?

• A zero balancing session is about forty-five minutes long; you lie on your back and remain fully clothed during the treatment.
• The practitioner evaluates your energy fields and flow by touching bones in your back, neck and pelvis.
• Zero balancing uses pressure on certain points of the body and gentle traction to allow energy to move through blockages, release imbalances and tension. Zero Balancing sessions are designed to create relaxation and a sense that tension is just, “melting away.”

Traditional Acupuncture and Five Element Acupuncture

acupuncture largeThe practice of Traditional Acupuncture, also known as Five Element Acupuncture, is derived from Taoist philosophy and practice. Acupuncture treatment is over 5,000 years old and uses thin needles and heat (moxabustion) for diagnostic and treatment techniques.

Acupuncture increases the flow of Qi(energy) throughout the body, facilitating the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The overall goal of treatment is to balance the five elements within the body and unite the forces of yin and yang at all levels.

Acupuncture can improve stamina, focus, sleep patterns, relaxation, mood and resistance to disease. It enhances a sense of well-being. Many people also feel a connection to creativity and a sense of peace after acupuncture.

Another style of acupuncture known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TMC) addresses physical symptoms primarily. Nancy was trained in five element acupuncture and learned TCM in order to meet acupuncture licensing requirements. In addition to physical therapy, she incorporates principles from both Five Element and TMC to give you the most complete possible treatment.

Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture

mei zen logos largeIn this culture, “lookin’ good” has become essential. Current procedures may include injections of chemicals, surgery, intense facial scrubs, and peels. Now a youthful appearance can be achieved with acupuncture – specifically Mei Zen Acupuncture. No surgery, drugs or electrical stimulation are needed. This procedure is drawn from Chinese texts that are thousands of years old and it provides a whole-body approach to a more youthful appearance for both the face and abdomen. This holistic approach supports the concept that external beauty is a reflection of the balance and harmony of the mind body and spirit of the individual on the inside.

Nancy Davison, PT, LAc is a certified practitioner trained in the Mei Zen method of cosmetic acupuncture. Very tiny needles are inserted in points just under the skin to stimulate elastin and collagen production and muscle tone. With Facial acupuncture, fine lines soften, deep lines are smoother, broken capillaries improve and acne and rosacea decrease. In addition to above benefits, abdominal acupuncture often produces increased libido(sex drive) and decreased measurements in lower body. It may also reduce depression and anxiety, improve energy, digestion and sleep, decrease hot flashes and night sweats and reduce pain.

Costs are considerably less that other forms of cosmetic rejuvenation and it works. A study in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture showed that of 300 people who received facial acupuncture, 90 percent saw marked results after their first course of treatment. Acupuncture is relatively pain free, quick recovery time without bruising or wounds to heal. Let your true inner beauty be revealed in your face and tummy through acupuncture.
